Chiropractic Services
Chiropractors are primary contact practitioners that are experts in the spine, muscles, and nervous system. As a regulated health profession, they use an evidence-based, hands-on, non-invasive, and a drug-free approach to assess and assist the whole family. This is done by diagnosing and treating pain, correcting joint motion, restoring proper movement, and enhancing overall body function.
Chiropractic care begins with a detailed medical history, discussion of current complaints, and a physical examination. The examination may include assessments of posture, range of motion, neurological function, muscle testing, orthopedic testing, and functional testing. Once the assessment is complete the chiropractor with present a report of findings to discuss their diagnosis, and plan of care, tailored to the specific needs and goals of each patient.
Subsequent visits often focus on hands-on care, which may include manual or instrument-assisted adjustments or mobilization of the spine and/or extremities, soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, monitored exercise, a home exercise program, education, or modalities such as shockwave therapy. Each treatment is customized to the individual’s needs on the day, in alignment with their care goals.
A chiropractor’s main goal is to provide patient centered care by listening to patients and understanding how their pain and dysfunction affects their day-to-day lives. In our experience, most patients hold the keys to their own recovery and with some guidance and care, can return to happy and active lives.
