Jennifer Schori, BScPT
Registered Physiotherapist, Clinic Owner
Jennifer Schori was born in Scarborough and raised in Port Perry, Ontario. She grew up surrounded by loving family, enjoying sports and the outdoors while snowmobiling, fishing, and camping. Upon high school graduation, she received The Canada Scholarship and attended the University of Guelph, Biomedical Science program. Jennifer then attained her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy at The University of Western Ontario. She excelled in both academics and a wide variety of sports throughout her life, playing varsity lacrosse for both The University of Guelph and University of Western Ontario.
Jennifer began her physiotherapy career in London, Ontario where she worked in private orthopaedic, sports injury, work hardening and industrial settings. Her drive to succeed led her to attain a wide variety of professional development and management courses, provide physiotherapy coverage for venues such as the Canada Summer Games, as well as provide onsite physiotherapy and ergonomic consultation at General Dynamics, Lear Seating, and L.H. Gray Eggs. She was the Director of Clinical and Staff Development at Spine and Joint Physiotherapy Clinic prior to leaving southwestern Ontario.
Jennifer and her husband moved to Petawawa and she worked as a contract physiotherapist at CFB Petawawa for five years. She learned the rigours of military life, the physical and mental demands on the soldier and need to rehabilitate these tactical athletes to a high level of fitness and function in order to deploy. Jennifer quickly fell in love with Petawawa, the nature, the people and small town feel in this very unique community. It was at this time that their family grew and they continue to enjoy a busy home life with their four children. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, playing games, and camping. She loves to run and do calisthenics to meet her personal fitness goals.
Jennifer had the dream to open a physiotherapy clinic. As one of the founders of Petawawa
Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic, she could not have imagined the growth and success this clinic would see, the skilled clinicians that would join the team, the dedicated administrative staff that would support daily operations, and the warmth of the community members she has the good fortune to work with. Collaboration with CFB Petawawa, Veterans Affairs Canada, WSIB, insurance agencies, and local health care providers has been instrumental in clinic advancement over the past ten years.
Jennifer builds strong relationships with her patients and fully commits to helping them meet their individual rehabilitation goals. She cares deeply about returning each patient to their activities of daily living, work, hobbies and sports. Jennifer has extensive clinical experience and education giving her a sizeable clinical toolbox. Her treatment approach includes education, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, spinal manipulation, myofascial techniques, acupuncture, dry needling, and McKenzie approach. She has specialized training in ergonomics, motor vehicle accident and work injuries, concussion therapy, vestibular therapy, TMJ treatment, and paediatric care. She enjoys treating clients of all ages and activity levels from sedentary to competitive athletes and newborn to elderly populations. Jennifer is passionate about her profession and is extremely proud to lead the team at Petawawa Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic.
